INAUGURATION OF A SOLAR PARK ON THE ROOF OF UVAVINS

In Tolochenaz, Uvavins has opened the new Romande Energie solar park
Put up since the end of 2011 on the roof of the company, the 880 photovoltaic panels are going to produce around 200’000 kilowatt hour a year. The electricity, however, will not be used by Uvavins. Injected in the Romande Energie network, it will cover the equivalent of the annual consumption of sixty households.
In the framework of a partnership with Romande Energie, Uvavins has completely renovated its roof for the amount of 250’000 Swiss francs in order to accommodate the new park. As for Romande Energie, it took care of the cost of the 880 photovoltaic panels and of all the expenses regarding their installation for an amount of 820’000 Swiss francs. This agreement allows Uvavins to gain a better isolation of its buildings and more particularly of its storage halls thanks to the shade brought by the solar panels set on its roof.
